Fishing in Costa Rica
Del Pacifico is ideally situated to take advantage of the world class sport fishing available off of the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Depending upon the season, our area is rife with sailfish, marlin, tuna, mahi mahi, snook, roosterfish, snapper and wahoo.
From Del Pacifico, you have your choice between 2 marinas for deep sea fishing charters. To our north, is the Los Sueños Marina & to our south is the brand new Marina Pez Vela in Quepos. Both are about the same distance from Del Pacifico, both offer full & half day charters, and both will end up in the same spot to fish. About 30 miles off the coast of Quepos is an area called "the Drop Off" which is where the sea becomes deep and sailfish become plentiful. The Drop Off is characterized by calm offshore waters which allow for flat water fishing. Sailfish and marlin are all caught on a catch and release basis to avoid overfishing but any edible fish are yours to keep.
Upon completion, Marina Pez Vela in Quepos will be the largest marina in Costa Rica. This 55 acre project will have 300 wet slips (100 currently open) for boats from 35' to 200', dry storage for 120 boats of up to 35', refueling docks & a retail village.
